With a wingspan adorned with whimsical, eye-like patterns, this majestic moth captures the essence of serene beauty in the night. Found primarily in North America, the luna moth is a symbol of transformation and rebirth, as it undergoes a dramatic metamorphosis from caterpillar to adult. Its delicate life cycle is closely tied to its preferred host plants, including sweet gum and walnut trees. While short-lived in its adult form, often lasting only about a week, the luna moth leaves a lasting impression with its ethereal presence, showcasing the intricate connections within the ecosystem.
